In support of city, county, and state public health recommendations and emergency declarations while also considering this weekend’s extension of federal social distancing guidelines by President Trump, Huston Academy will extend school closure until further notice. At this time Huston Academy is opting not to provide an estimated return-to-school date due to the uncertainties related to the severity and duration of the current pandemic as well as the likelihood that any date selected might have to be extended again.
The physical office of the campus will continue to be closed during this extension, but we remain accessible via phone or email. Administration will continue to monitor the situation and evaluate announcements and recommendations from health and elected officials from all levels in order to determine the most appropriate date for a return to school. Once that return-to-school date is selected, the school community will be alerted with ample notice through our usual channels of communication.
We are deeply appreciative to the Huston Academy family for your patience and support during these trying times. We are so very proud of the work of our teachers and staff over the last few weeks. They have put together strong instructional continuity plans that ensure, with the proper effort and attitude, all of our students will continue to move forward academically. We are all sad that this situation is causing this physical separation, but we encourage you all to continue to follow the recommendations of our health and elected officials so that we may all come out of it healthy and whole.
