Attention Parents: Please go to Huston Academy's Parent Portal on our website to complete the online registration for your child. This must be completed for ALL students in order to be registered for the upcoming 2020-2021 academic school year.

PEBT(Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer) Application is available online. This is a benefit of up to $285 per child for food. All Huston Academy students qualify b/c we are a CEP Campus(all students eat school meals free). See our Website or our Facebook Page for instructions.

Dear Parent or Guardian, Your household may be eligible to receive Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) benefits to buy food. P-EBT is for children 5-18 years old who received SNAP food benefits for the month of March 2020 and children up to 21 years old who are certified for free or reduced-price meals at school in Texas during the 2019-20 school year. Children that attend a school that offers free meals to all students (Community Eligibility Provision or Provision 2) are also eligible. The online application for P-EBT is now open. Please review the criteria to see if you need to apply to receive these benefits. The application link is provided below. Do I need to apply for P-EBT? Families that DID NOT get SNAP benefits for the month of March 2020 • Yes, you will need to apply. • Fill out an application here: yourtexasbenefits.com/Learn/PEBT • The application is open until June 30, 2020. • If you do not currently get SNAP benefits and your child is approved for P-EBT, you will be mailed a P-EBT card loaded with benefits. Families that DID get SNAP benefits for the month of March 2020 • You do not need to apply for children ages 5-18. Benefits were loaded onto your existing SNAP card by May 22. • If you have children under 5 and/or between the ages of 19 and 21, you will need to fill out an application for those children. P-EBT is a one-time benefit for families issued through an EBT card (like a debit card). Families receive up to $285 per eligible child. You will have one year from the date the benefits were issued to use your P-EBT benefits. P-EBT benefits are non-transferrable. Graduates can pick up their five tickets for their 2020 Graduation Ceremony from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Monday, June 8th through Thursday, June 11th. All guests will have to have their ticket in hand to enter the Graduation Ceremony.

Reminder: All students need to have their Chromebooks and charger turned into the school office by today at 3:00 pm, unless you have made prior arrangements with Carol Taylor.

Dear Parent or Guardian, We understand the challenging circumstances you are experiencing and wanted you to know your household may be eligible to receive Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) benefits to buy food from any retailer that accepts the Texas Lone Star Card. P-EBT is a one-time benefit of up to $285 per child, and will be issued on an EBT card to assist families during this unanticipated school closure. Children up to 21 years old who are certified for free or reduced-price meals at school in Texas during the 2019-20 school year and all children who attend a school that offers free meals to all students (Community Eligibility Provision or Provision 2) are eligible to receive P-EBT benefits. Huston Academy is a Community Eligibility Provision school. Families who received SNAP benefits for the month of March 2020 and have children 5-18 years old as of May 17, 2020, do not need to apply for those children. These families will receive P-EBT benefits on their current Lone Star Card by May 22. No further action is required of you. Families with children up to 21 years old who are certified to receive free or reduced-price meals during the 2019-20 school year need to apply for P-EBT. (This includes families who received SNAP benefits for the month of March 2020 and have children under 5 and between 19 and 21.) These families will need to apply for P-EBT benefits online. Eligible families will receive a school email with a link to the P-EBT application the first week of June. You will have until June 30, 2020 to complete the application. Once approved, a P-EBT card will be mailed to your household. Please refer to the “How to Apply for P-EBT” handout posted on our website, www.hustonacademy.com for more information about the application process and what information you will need to provide. You will have one year, from the date the benefits were issued, to use your P-EBT food benefits. P-EBT benefits are non-transferrable. We trust this benefit will prove helpful. The technical issue with Edgenuity has been resolved. Students are able to work on their courses in this online program.
